This is one of the most well-understood areas of hyperbaric medicine. Hyperbaric therapy is very anabolic. It stimulates a variety of growth factors including Vegf, BDNF, PDGF, ILGF, collagen and fibroblast as well as up-regulation of mesenchymal stem cells and central nervous stem cells. Other areas of interest would be bone growth and bone repair, ligament and tendon repair, muscle repair, angiogenesis, and other cell type and tissue type regeneration.
