HYPERBARIC
OXYGEN THERAPY

Many Conditions Respond Favorably To HBOT

AGING

• Studies have shown that HBOT can improve cognitive function (memory, attention, executive function) and help reduce the signs of aging.

• HBOT also helps combat age-related macular degeneration while reducing central retinal artery occlusions.

• HBOT has been shown to not only slow the degradation of telomeres but cause them to re-grow and even increase in length up to 20%. Telomeres are a biomarker for aging.

CARDIAC

• In regard to atherosclerosis, HBOT has demonstrated the ability to significantly reduce levels of LDL (low density lipoprotein).

• HBOT has been shown to help combat degenerative conditions by contributing to the regeneration of tissue and blood vessels stimulating angiogenesis in areas of the body where circulation is compromised. This form of therapy is utilized by some physicians to help treat coronary heart disease.

DIABETES

The American Journal of Surgery found that HBOT can help speed up the healing of diabetic ulcers.

• With diabetes primarily affecting the small blood vessels, HBOT has been demonstrated to stimulate angiogenesis to help ameliorate comprised blood flow and prevent organ failure.

• Recent reports have provided evidence towards linking HBOT to regenerating pancreatic islets of Langerhans, thus potentially producing more insulin.

• Through HBOT, advancements in glycemic control have been reported by seeing improvements in insulin sensitivity and skeletal muscle reception of glucose.dy.

ADDICTION

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help repair damaged neurons from chronic substance abuse as well as assist in cellular detoxification. HBOT as an adjunct to conventional Drug and Alcohol programs may reduce overall treatment time and complications.

CEREBRAL PALSY

• Cerebral Palsy cases tend to see enhanced neurological repair and regeneration through HBOT by promoting neurogenesis, moderating mitochondrial disorders, as well as attenuatingthe effects of hypoxia on the neonatal brain.

• Cases of Cerebral Palsy tend to see improvements via HBOT in cognitive function, enhanced speech and language while lessening the frequency of seizures. Cancer thrives in hypoxic environments and HBOT has been shown to increase oxygen levels to weaken hypoxic tumors, target metastatic tumors and reduce their aggressiveness.

DEPRESSION

A recent study demonstrated a link between accelerated mitochondrial aging and depression in older adults. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy leads to increased mitochondria output, increased mitochondria size, and increased mitochondria density.

• Older adults with major depression show accelerated aging in cells throughout their body. HBOT causes an immediate increase in free- floating oxygen perfusion into the cells of our brain and body.

CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME

• There is mounting evidence that CFS symptoms are due to dysfunctions found in genes linked to immune cells, brains cells, skeletal muscle cells, the thyroid, and mitochondria. By diffusing oxygen into the cell via HBOT the mitochondria can convert chemical energy into a form of energy our cells can use.

AUTISM

Eighty percent of children with Autism have hypo-perfusion to the temporal lobes of the brain as well as neural inflammation. HBOT has been shown to decrease inflammation, moderate mitochondria dysfunction, reduce seizure frequency and actuate neuroplasticity.

• Hyperbaric oxygen therapy typically results in improved cognitive function, improved gross/fine motor skills, changes in language (expressive and receptive) and socialization.

ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION (ED)

Recent HBOT studies show dramatic increases in blood flow and angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) to improve the tissues around erectile dysfunction.

CANCER

Cancer thrives in hypoxic environments and HBOT has been shown to increase oxygen levels to weaken hypoxic tumors, target metastatic tumors and reduce their aggressiveness.

• HBOT is currently being utilized in conjunction with conventional treatments for cancer (radiation and chemotherapy) to reduce side effects.

• HBOT can increase natural killer cell activity.

COVID-19

• Clinical reports show progressive hypoxemia as the main cause of deterioration in patients with Covid-19. Benefits of HBOT: rapid relief of hypoxic symptoms, decreased chest pain, decreased dyspnea (difficult breathing), gradual improvement of Arterial Blood Gas, improved lung pathology, and increased blood oxygen saturation.

• HBOT does not increase lung expansion but increases oxygen diffusion and saturation throughout the body.

TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI)

HBOT has been demonstrated to enhance the recovery from TBI and augment brain activity by reducing hypoxia and neuroinflammation while increasing circulation in the brain.

INFLAMMATION

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been demonstrated to substantially reduce inflammation throughout the body. HBOT increases anti-inflammatory cytokines, induces fibroblast activation, and remediates inflammatory bowel disease.

• Studies have shown that HBOT increases anti- inflammatory levels and provides increased cellular aid to heal target regions. Oxygen serves as one of the primary mechanisms to ameliorating inflammation.

LYME DISEASE

HBOT elevates tissue oxygenation which can be lethal to the infectious tick-borne bacterium/spirochete associated with Lyme Disease. Increased oxygen levels in the body can enhance white blood cell activity and anti-microbial responses.

SKIN/BEAUTY

HBOT promotes collagen activation to help battle signs of aging including reducing skin damage and assisting in maintaining skin elasticity.

INFECTION/IMMUNITY

A study in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that just a single session of hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help increase the production of white blood cells and antibodies, which are key to fighting infection and destroying the dangerous actions of microorganisms. Many bacteria involved in infections are “obligate anaerobes”, meaning they require the absence of oxygen. Accordingly, higher oxygen levels in the blood act as a natural antibiotic for unhealthy bacteria and a healing source for our cells and probiotics (healthy bacteria).

NEUROLOGICAL

Healing and repair of the brain have been enhanced through HBOT by increasing blood flow and oxygen delivery to hypoxic tissues, moderating mitochondria dysfunction and promoting neurogenesis.

• A recent study demonstrated that HBOT can significantly enhance cognitive functions such as increased memory, enhanced processing speed, and enhanced concentration.

• Hyperbaric oxygen is known to boost neuroplasticity which is extremely beneficial for patients with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

STEM CELLS

HBOT has also been shown to significantly increase the concentration of circulating stem/progenitor cells within the peripheral circulation system. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases stem cell circulation by 800% and improves the body’s ability to mend itself. One of the long-term benefits of HBOT exposure is stem cell release. HBOT massively increases the quantity and quality of stem cells in the bone marrow and central nervous system.

MITOCHONDRIA

Increased oxygen levels lead to increased ATP production (cellular energy), increased mitochondrial (engine of the human cell) output, increased mitochondrial efficiency, increased mitochondrial size, and even increased mitochondrial density. Chronic illness results from the body not producing the ATP required to heal and perform routine functions.

QUALITY OF LIFE

Upregulating oxygen exposure in our cells promotes adenosine triphosphate (ATP) efficiency in our mitochondria which leads to more energy.

• HBOT promotes angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), reduces swelling and inflammation, increases oxygen perfusion in tissue, kills anaerobic bacteria, improves immune system regulation, and promotes stem cell release.

• With repetitive exposure of HBOT, the mitochondria will see advancements in areas such as production efficiency and density.

• HBOT is proven to improve wellness and performance.

SURGERY

Many surgeons now recommend pre and/or postoperative HBOT to enhance healing, recovery and results.

• HBOT is known to help post-surgery patients with reduction of pain, inflammation, and bruising. HBOT promotes fibroblast activation, collagen production and bone remodeling.

ULCERATIONS

HBOT increases the amount of oxygen available to ulcerated areas, leading to decreased inflammation and increased fibroblast activation to promote healing from the inside out.
